The founders of the company have pioneered during the last 20 years the computer aided mathematics education. They have either coordinated or participated in various EU projects to develop enabling technologies and tools. When Mathematical Markup Language (MathML) was designed they played pivotal roles in this initiative. MathML uncovered the potential of computers and internet for mathematics education because also the meaning of mathematical formula components were integrated into World Wide Web documents.

The company itself was established to commercialize the outcomes of two year EU eContent project (WebALT EDC - 2225), which finished at the end of 2006. The company is owned by the leading eMathematics universities of Europe together with the key contributors of preceding WebALT project.
