WebALT in the ITK-conference

WebALT is present in the Finnish ITK (Information Technology in Education) conference in April 17 and 18, 2008 in Aulanko Hotel in the town of Hämeenlinna in Finland. Come to hear about and try our services and products for high schools and colleges at our booth 312. Also Marja-Leena Viljanen from the Helsinki High School of Natural Sciences and Kari Lehtonen from the Metropolia college present their experiences of using WebALT exercises in teaching on Thursday, April 17 at 14:30 in the ITK-forum.

WebALT new webshop has been launched

WebALT products are now available through our webshop. The products currently available include high school mathematics courses for polynomials, geometry and arithmetics. The courses are available with or without solutions.

Feel free to visit the webshop here. The products in the webshop are currently intended for private customers, communities and educational institutions are encouraged to contact us directly through the support emails.

WebALT course won learning technology prize

WebALT Virtual Single Variable Calculus course has won the learning technology prize of Helsinki University. The rector of UH chose SVC among 14 candidates due to its pedagogical and technological merits. Press release (in Finnish).

WebALT will showcase its services and products as part of the exhibition on Mathematics in Finland at the Museum of the University of Helsinki during the month of November. Visitors will be introduced to demonstration material and will be able to visit the WebALT office in Second Life.

WebALT to publish vodcasts

In the coming month, WebALT will publish a series of Calculus lectures as vodcast. The first release will be in Finnish and will cover the Fall-Winter 2007 course on Single Variable Calculus given by Mika Seppälä at the University of Helsinki. So, stay tuned!
